Recently, we spoke with Mr. Fred Salati, who is known as the Amba Towel Warmer Guru.  He was kind enough to answer a few questions for onlytowelwarmers.com.

OTW: Share with us the history of Amba.

OTW: What is your role with Amba?
  • SALATI: Sales, Director and Towel Warmer Guru
OTW: What should a customer consider when purchasing a towel warmer?
  • SALATI: When selecting a towel warmer, the customer should consider: the room in which the towel warmer will be used, the position it will be mounted in, the size & design of the towel warmer, location of wiring and any customizations that may need to be done including the finish and electrical fitting. Our towel warmers can be used in almost any type of room because some models can double as space heaters. Besides the bathroom, they can be used in mudrooms, saunas, spas, kitchens, basements, garages, or in any room that may need additional heat.  Amba is flexible in the position of wiring. Upon order request we are able to locate wiring on the left. This is optional.  Consider if you want to have a towel warmer with more surface area for your towels and bathrobes. More bars or flat panels. What kind of heating technology do you want? With liquid that allows longer maintenance or with cables that heat faster and warmer. Do you want a Digital heat controller and/or a 24 hour / 7 Day Programmable timer? Amba has that too. Do you later want to add accessories to the towel warmers such as extra bars, robe hooks and/or shelf bars.? See what Amba accessories goes on the towel warmers.
OTW: What is Amba’s most popular towel warmer?
  • SALATI:  Our most popular towel warmer that heats up with liquid inside is the Jeeves towel warmers, especially the medium sized units.   Sirio and Quadro are our most popular towel warmers. Their new technology allows for flexibility in design and allows for unit to be installed vertically, horizontally, or upside down. See the ones that are available in polished, Oil Rubbed Bronze or brushed finishes and can be controlled by a programmable timer and digital heat controller. The popular sizes are the wide ones. We have more of a variety of sizes that other companies.
OTW: If you were giving a towel warmer as a gift, which model would you give and why?
  • SALATI: I would give either a Solo, Swivel or a Radiant (plug in version) as a gift because the towel warmers requires little or no installation; all you have to do is plug them in. The Solo is It is lightweight and portable and can be used in any room—bathrooms, laundry rooms, or even dorm rooms, large or small!
